Nathalie, age 31, Terminal Safety Officer

" I enjoy the contact with passengers and meeting people from different backgrounds "

You are a "Terminal Safety Agent". What does your job involve?

My job involves ensuring the safety of persons and property, helping any victims, taking action in the event of lifts being non-operational, clearing up any doubts if fire is detected or in the event of suspicious odours.

I also have to check emergency resources (fire extinguishers, fire doors, fire permit inspections, dry risers, and that routes to emergency exits are clear etc.) and to receive emergency services from the outside if need be.

What are the attractions of this job and what qualities does it require?

It's a job that is very interesting and in which you learn a lot. It has shown me the importance of fire safety and of helping victims. We are the first port of call in the event of fire at the terminal. For this job, I think one needs to be conscientious, serious and prepared to listen - and to respond as quickly as possible.

What made you choose Aéroports de Paris?

I chose Aéroports de Paris because I love the airport environment. I enjoy the contact with passengers and meeting people from different backgrounds.

What was your integration into the company like?

No problem at all. My colleagues are great and not at all macho!

You have been at Aéroports de Paris for 2 years. How do you see your future within the company?

I have been at Aéroports de Paris since 2003 and received my qualification for this post in 2004. Consequently, it is too soon for me to think about promotions and, at present, it is enough just to be working for Aéroports de Paris.

Tell us what your working environment is like (atmosphere, relations with line managers, information etc.)

I have good contact with my superiors. The atmosphere is very good both within the department itself and in the Information Control Centre.
