Aéroports de Paris aims to become the leading airport group in Europe in terms of size, attractiveness and results.
An offensive, focused strategy
The Aéroports de Paris strategy is based on three main approaches that mutually enrich and complement each other :
1- Increasing the number of platforms and customer satisfaction
Aéroports de Paris has strengthened its core activity, investing € 2.3 billion between 2001 and 2004, and a further € 2.5 billion between now and 2008, in order to increase the capacities and operational efficiency of its platforms.
At the same time, Aéroports de Paris is undergoing profound changes and consolidating its profile as a service company, whose main concerns and decisions are focused on the satisfaction of passengers, companies and all the users of its platforms.
2- Fully exploiting commercial and real estate potential
These activities are vital sources of growth and profitability. At present, Paris-Charles de Gaulle only offers 510 sq. m. of boutique space per million passengers, while Heathrow, for instance, provides 900 sq. m.
Aéroports de Paris also intends to exploit its real estate potential on a larger scale. Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly handle more than 130,000 passengers every day. Some 1,000 companies and their staff are established at the two platforms. As a result, there is a wide range of prospects, with real estate responding to the needs of not only operators and passengers, but also the business, commercial and leisure sectors.
3- Enhancing high added value skills.
Telecommunications, engineering, and the management and training of executives and staff are three strategic domains for airport operators. Aéroports de Paris will be making the most of its expertise in these fields, which represent a major source of additional revenue, without the need for tying up a large amount of capital. They enable Aéroports de Paris, which decided to integrate the highly technical skills required by its activities, to maintain its expertise at the highest possible level through a stimulating competitive approach, using the best contributors in the world.
