Aéroports de Paris, in association with FRAM tourism group, will be testing an exceptional excursion programme called "Airport Discovery visits". These visits organized by Paris- Charles de Gaulle airport will start on Monday, 10 July 2006.
The concept : a day of pedagogical discovery and preparation for travel
The objective of the programme is to make the general public the 1st French airport site, a real airport city which handled over 145, 000 passengers a day in 2005 and which employs around 80, 000 people in all the lines of business. It also aims at giving visitors the opportunity to experience a real time-like travel experience, thus allowing them to better know and use the airport.
Planned by airport experts, the visits will enable to understand the airport operating process as well as the roles and missions of the different actors. The backstage visit of the airport lasts an entire day, with the following agenda:
- Presentation of airport operations and the different actors
- Visit of a terminal building
- Simulation of check-in and boarding
- Lunch at the Sofitel hotel
- Visit of the "Pavillon de Réception" (Lounge where heads of States are welcomed – subject to approval)
- Visit of the airport command center
- Visit of the Airport Firehouse
This new service of preparation for travel is one element of the global strategy to upgrade the quality of service. To better understand the airport is to use it better», states Pascal Bourgue, Marketing, Retail and Communications Director for Aéroports de Paris.
Serge Laurens, Communications Director for FRAM Group declares « At a time where the general public needs to be informed and reassured about air transport, our group is taking part with enthusiasm, through our travel agencies and our website www.fram.fr, to this common experience ».
Booking is fairly simple
